“Courtney I already told you, I won’t be excited until we’re on the plane!” – Evan

Hello world! This post marks the beginning of our first ever travel blog! We have affectionately dubbed our website the adventures of two losers. This is because there are two of us, we are on a kind of adventure and well we both identify fondly with the title of loser. Our names are Evan and Courtney and we are a couple (of goofballs) trying to make a go of it traveling around the world for a year. Lets start out by telling you a bit about our trip planning so far and what are goals are for this year.

The Current start date of our trip is set for July the 2nd when we will be taking off from our home in Victoria B.C. to fly to the United Kingdom. Evan , having done his university degree in Wales, is planning on visiting friends and potentially some family in the first few days. Courtney on the other hand, will be spending some time with two Canadian rapscallions (Anne and Abs) for some teacher catchup and related dubotchery.

The Official Phase one of our trip will be when we enbark to St. Jean Pied du Port to start a very very long walk to Santiago de Compostela in Spain. We will be walking there via the Camino Frances which starts in the French Pyrannese and ends 780km later in Santiago. This 40 day walk should take us through Pamplona for the running of the bulls ( don’t worry evan will not be participating), as well as enlightening us spiritually helping us to “find ourselves”.

Phase two then leads us back to the U.K where we will be renting a car and traveling around for two weeks or so camping and generally fumbling around. Evan has agreed to play tour guide for this bit as long as Courtney gets one night in a hotel after finishing the long walk (stay tuned for details). We then have plans to visit more family and friends and engage in general meriment etc etc. which will then lead us to Phase three of the trip.

Phase three involves us flying across the world again to look for work in Vietnam. This will hopefully involve some sort of english teaching but as long as we can make a buck we will be pleased.

And that is pretty much the trip. The world is our oyster!
